Job summary

Careers at Council in New South Wales seeks a temporary GIS Analyst to join the Council's GIS team for six months. You will provide advanced spatial analysis, modelling and geospatial data development services, and assist in maintaining the GIS environment and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will work on business-led GIS projects supporting planning, assets, infrastructure and environmental teams, and contribute to ongoing improvements in GIS capabilities.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position, or equivalent experience in spatial analysis or geospatial role.
• Proven knowledge and experience in GIS software tools (MapInfo and QGIS) to deliver spatial analysis.
• Strong problem-solving background and experience in understanding and documenting business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced spatial analysis, modelling, and geospatial data development services.
• Assist in managing and maintaining the Council's GIS environment and infrastructure.
• Deliver ongoing improvements in GIS capabilities and support planning, assets, infrastructure, and environmental teams.
