Grosvenor Mine, located in Moranbah, QLD, Australia, is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. Based at Grosvenor Mine, you will drive geotechnical strategy and provide advice to Technical Services, Operations and Compliance on ground conditions.

You will oversee underground geotechnical operations, design ground support, and conduct inspections to ensure alignment with approved designs and standards.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Geotechnical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Proven underground coal experience within a Geotechnical Engineering role.
• Experience with computer aided mine design programs, geotechnical software, and other business software.

Responsabilités

• Maintain geotechnical oversight of underground operations and audit compliance with corporate standards and approved support designs.
• Design ground support and monitoring systems to support safe and productive mine operations.
• Conduct regular underground inspections to audit installed strata support and strata conditions to confirm effectiveness in accordance with the approved designs.
• Provide strategic advice to Technical Services and Mining Operations on geotechnical issues.
• Advise management and operational staff on geotechnical issues.
• Manage the Strata Defect System and ensure compliance with the Geotechnical Operational Management System.
• Advise and assist engineers with recommendations on geotechnical and hydro-geological issues regarding mine design, planning and operations.
• Understand and comply with safety, health, environment, cost and production objectives and procedures.
