Job summary

Vertex Workforce is expanding and seeks a commercially minded General Manager to lead growth, service delivery and recruitment operations across residential and commercial markets in Australia. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong client development and the ability to scale from 15–20 staff to 300–500 within 6–12 months.

You will shape the company’s structure, implement scalable systems, and build a capable team, reporting to owners and driving strategic and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience as GM or similar role.
• Experience in labour hire or construction services.
• Proven track record scaling business operations and revenue.
• Strong business development and client management capabilities.
• Experience managing recruitment, workforce coordination or high-volume service delivery.
• Budgeting, pricing, margins and P&L responsibility.
• Knowledge of WHS and employment obligations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and overall performance of Vertex Workforce.
• Develop and execute the growth plan with the owners.
• Drive new business development and strengthen client relationships.
• Oversee sales pipeline, pricing, proposals, tenders and negotiations.
• Manage recruitment, rostering, workforce allocation and deployment.
• Establish scalable systems across sales, recruitment, payroll, finance and reporting.
• Create clear responsibilities, performance expectations and accountability across the team.
• Maintain strong safety, industrial relations and compliance.
