Job summary

dormakaba is seeking a Service & Installation Technician to join our Paget-based Best Doors team. This hands-on, field-based role installs, services, maintains, and repairs residential and commercial garage and roller door systems across the Mackay region.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be on customer sites delivering safe, high-quality workmanship while building lasting customer relationships and contributing to service improvements as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience using hand and power tools in a trade, installation or service environment.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage daily workloads and solve problems on site.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and repair garage and roller door systems.
• Replace motors and associated door components.
• Travel daily to customer and project sites across the branch service area.
• Complete multiple installations and multiple service jobs each day.
• Conduct site inspections, measurements and fault finding.
• Build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional service work.
• Complete service reports and job documentation using a tablet-based system.
• Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
• Provide support for emergency callouts when required.
