Job summary

dormakaba is seeking a Service & Installation Technician for Paget to install, service and repair residential and commercial garage and roller door systems across the Mackay region. You will travel daily to sites, perform measurements and fault finding, and ensure safety and quality on every job.

Role requires hands-on trade experience, strong safety practices, and excellent customer service. A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the local service area are essential.

Job description

We are seeking a Service & Installation Technician to join our Best Doors team in Paget. This hands‑on, field based role is responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial garage and roller door systems throughout the region.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be the face of the business on customer sites, delivering exceptional service while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

What you will do

• Install, service and repair garage and roller door systems
• Replace motors and associated door components
• Travel daily to customer and project sites across the branch service area
• Complete multiple installations and multiple service jobs each day
• Conduct site inspections, measurements and fault finding
• Build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional service work
• Complete service reports and job documentation using a tablet-based system
• Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards
• Provide support for emergency callouts when required

What we prefer

• Experience with garage doors, roller doors or similar building products -highly regarded
• Current forklift ticket – or willingness to obtain one in the future
• Experience using job management systems or mobile technology in the field
• Ability to work at heights with current Working with heights ticket – or willingness to obtain one
