Job summary

Airtree, Sydney-based, is hiring a Junior Accountant to join the finance team. You will work with four colleagues under the Financial Controller, gaining insight into fund accounting, investor reporting, capital calls and distributions, tax, cash flow and annual audit.

This is a broad role designed for those early in their accounting career who want to learn how a venture fund operates and build a long-term career at Airtree. CA/CFA support provided.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree required.
• CA/CPA qualification in progress or achieved.
• ~3 years’ experience at Associate level in Big 4 or mid‑tier firm.
• Advanced Excel and reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Run first-pass tie-outs and outputs for fund processes.
• Review capital calls and distributions before sign-off.
• Support capital calls and distributions.
• Prepare quarterly investor reports and half-year financial statements.
• Liaise with auditors and tax advisors for annual audit and tax returns.
• Embed AI to improve accuracy and efficiency in workflows.
