Job summary

Anton Murray Consulting is seeking a Fund Accounting - Assistant Manager for a Sydney-based private capital team. You will provide high-quality accounting and reporting support to alternative investment funds and lead month-end close processes.

5+ years in fund accounting, strong knowledge of Private Equity, and familiarity with eFront Invest are highly preferred. You will mentor juniors, liaise with fund managers, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering accurate client reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fund accounting or similar role.
• Thorough understanding of fund accounting principles and regulations.
• Thorough knowledge of Private Equity investments.
• Experience supervising and developing junior staff.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Experience with eFront Invest is highly preferred.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.

Are you an experienced Fund Accounting professional looking to take the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity for an Private Capital - Fund Accounting Assistant Manager to join our clients growing team in Sydney. This full-time, Sydney-based role will see you providing high-quality accounting and reporting support to their alternative investment fund clients.

What you'll be doing

Prepare and review daily, monthly, and annual financial reports and statements for alternative investment funds - Private Equity, HF and Private Credit / Debt

Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion

Liaise with fund managers, administrators, and other stakeholders to obtain information and resolve issues

Assist with the implementation of new funds, including setting up accounting systems and processes

Mentor and guide more junior team members, sharing your expertise and helping them develop their skills

Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and accounting standards, implementing changes as needed

Support the preparation of client presentations and respond to ad-hoc requests

What we're looking for

5+ years of experience in a fund accounting or similar role, ideally within the Private Equity investments sector

eFront invest system experience is highly preferred

Thorough understanding of fund accounting principles, practices, and regulations

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and colleagues at all levels

Experience in supervising and developing more junior team members

Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel

Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
