Kaizen Recruitment is assisting an established investment management business in Melbourne to appoint a Fund Accountant. The role offers broad exposure across the fund accounting lifecycle and genuine ownership within a collaborative team.

You will gain exposure to private markets and contribute to improvements across systems, reporting and processes, while supporting tax and BAS work and liaising with auditors and advisers.

Qualificações

• CA/CPA qualification or progress toward completion.
• 3+ years’ experience in fund or investment accounting.
• Experience across private credit or real estate debt is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of fund structures and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong stakeholder communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Managing fund accounting and periodic close processes.
• Preparing NAV and unit pricing calculations, investor allocations and distributions.
• Cash, investment and loan reconciliations.
• Accounting for loan investments, including interest, fees and provisions.
• Supporting financial statement preparation and investor reporting.
• Managing investor transactions including subscriptions, redemptions and distributions.
• Supporting BAS, tax calculations and other fund tax requirements.
• Liaising with auditors, tax advisers and external service providers.
• Working closely with investment and operations teams.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.

The Opportunity

An established investment management business is looking to appoint a Fund Accountant to join its Melbourne team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established investment manager in a role offering broad exposure and genuine ownership across the fund accounting lifecycle. You will work within a collaborative environment, gain exposure to a growing area of the private markets sector and have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing improvements across systems, reporting and processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing fund accounting and periodic close processes.
