Job summary

Anton Murray Consulting in Sydney is seeking a Fund Accounting Assistant Manager to provide high-quality accounting and reporting support to alternative investment funds. This full-time role emphasizes accurate financial reporting and close processes.

You will mentor junior staff, liaise with fund managers and administrators, and stay current with industry regulations while helping implement new funds and enhance accounting systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fund accounting or similar role, ideally in alternatives
• Thorough understanding of fund accounting principles, practices, and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to resolve issues efficiently
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, ability to liaise with clients and colleagues at all levels
• Experience supervising and developing more junior team members
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review daily, monthly, and annual financial reports and statements for alternative investment funds
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Liaise with fund managers, administrators, and other stakeholders to obtain information and resolve issues
• Assist with the implementation of new funds, including setting up accounting systems and processes
• Mentor and guide more junior team members, sharing expertise and helping them develop their skills
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and accounting standards, implementing changes as needed
• Support the preparation of client presentations and respond to ad-hoc requests
