Job summary

Lakeside Hotel in Bendigo, Victoria, seeks a Functions/Events/Restaurant Supervisor to lead daily operations across functions, events, and dining. You will supervise service, manage rosters, mentor staff, and ensure outstanding guest experiences.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to service quality. RSA certification is required, and you will collaborate with Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Front Office and Housekeeping to deliver seamless events.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality, restaurant, or events.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, food and beverage service, and event coordination
• Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
• Problem-solving skills with a proactive and can-do attitude
• Relevant RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate functions, events, and restaurant service operations to ensure all guests receive exceptional experiences
• Manage rostering, scheduling, and staff allocation across functions, events, and restaurant departments
• Train, mentor, and develop team members to maintain high standards of hospitality and service quality
• Liaise with clients, event coordinators, and internal teams to coordinate special events and functions
• Monitor stock levels, supplies, and equipment maintenance within assigned areas
• Handle guest queries and complaints professionally, ensuring swift resolution and customer satisfaction
• Maintain accurate records of bookings, revenue, and operational metrics; implement and monitor service standards and quality controls
• Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and other hotel departments (Kitchen, Front Office & Housekeeping)
