Job summary

Pure Desi Retailing Pty Ltd (trading as Pure Desi Kellyville) is a busy retail store in a Kellyville shopping strip, selling Indian sweets, snacks and gift boxes in store and online. We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to organise and control the operations of the store and lead the store team.

You will oversee product mix, stock levels and budgeting while promoting festival campaigns such as Diwali, Eid and Raksha Bandhan.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in retail management, business or related field, or 3+ years relevant experience in lieu of formal qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of paid work as Retail Manager or similar role, preferably in food retail.
• Demonstrated experience in stock control, purchasing, budgeting and staff supervision.
• Sound knowledge of food safety and WHS requirements in a food retail setting.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; proficient with POS and online ordering systems.
• Ability to work a flexible roster including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Organise and control overall store operations, reporting to the director on sales, costs and performance.
• Determine product mix across sweets, snacks, gift boxes and seasonal lines based on sales data and demand.
• Set stock levels for fresh and packaged products to meet demand and minimise waste.
• Maintain customer service standards for in-store, phone and online orders and store presentation.
• Formulate purchasing policies, supplier selection, ordering frequency and delivery quality checks.
• Develop and implement marketing policies; set and review retail prices against costs, margins and competition.
• Promote products through campaigns, in-store promotions, digital signage and social media.
• Sell products and advise on selection, ingredients, allergens, shelf life and storage, including bulk and catering orders.
• Maintain stock records, stocktakes, wastage and financial transactions including daily sales and online platform sales.
• Prepare and manage store budget, monitor sales targets, labour costs and expenses.
• Oversee staff induction, training, supervision and performance; set staffing levels.
• Ensure compliance with WHS and food safety legislation and monitor hygiene across the store.
