Job summary

Steeples in Mornington is seeking an experienced Full Time Sous Chef to join the team and work closely with the Head Chef to lead daily kitchen operations on the Mornington Peninsula. You will deliver consistently high-quality food, maintain safety standards and help create memorable guest experiences.

Located at Steeples, a modern dining and entertainment complex, the role offers a fast-paced, team‑driven environment with strong leadership opportunities and ongoing training within Pegasus

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in a professional kitchen, with experience leading or supporting a busy service.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or an equivalent qualification).
• Current Food Safety and Food Allergens Certificate, or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Working alongside the Head Chef to keep the kitchen running smoothly and service on point.
• Preparing and plating quality dishes that look great and keep guests coming back for more.
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team helping to create a positive, supportive kitchen culture.
• Keeping food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards at the highest level.
• Helping manage stock, ordering and supplier relationships to keep the kitchen well stocked and minimise waste.
• Monitor food and labour costs and contribute to achieving budget and profitability targets.
• Supporting the recruitment, training and development of team members so everyone can do their best work.
