Job summary

Starbucks Australia is seeking a hands-on Assistant Store Manager at George Street to lead daily store operations, coach a high-performing team, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This permanent full-time role offers guaranteed hours and a pathway to Store Manager, with ongoing training and rewards aligned to performance.

You will work closely with the Store Manager to drive financial performance, rostering, and operational excellence in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Two years' progressively responsible experience, including at least one year in a customer-facing role.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in store leadership roles, ideally within hospitality or quick service restaurant sectors.
• Experience supporting store operations and contributing to financial performance.
• Exposure to rostering, budgets, and profit & loss (P&L) reports.
• A proven ability to develop teams and foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment.

The Opportunity

As an Assistant Store Manager at Starbucks, you’ll play a key leadership role in bringing the Starbucks Experience to life. Working closely with the Store Manager, you’ll help lead store operations, develop a high‑performing team, and create a welcoming third place for customers and communities.

This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity where you’ll grow your business acumen, coaching capability, and operational expertise while being supported to take the next step in your leadership career.
