Lake Central Cairns is looking for an energetic, reliable and hands‑on Front Office & Operations Supervisor to join our team.
This is a long-term opportunity for someone with hotel experience who is ready to take the next step into a supervisory role. You will work directly with the Hotel Manager and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Front Office, while coordinating housekeeping, maintenance and general hotel operations.
We are looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our team and can commit to at least 12 months, ideally longer.
Your responsibilities will include:
Day-to-day running of Front Office
Reservations, check-ins and check-outs
Guest enquiries and resolving guest issues
Coordinating daily housekeeping and room priorities
Supporting and supervising housekeeping staff
Checking room presentation and hotel standards
Identifying and following up maintenance issues
Coordinating maintenance and trades when required
Assisting with social media and marketing
Supporting the Hotel Manager with daily operations
We are looking for someone who is:
Reliable, responsible and well organised
Friendly and confident with guests
Hands‑on and willing to help wherever needed
Able to coordinate and support other staff
A good problem solver who shows initiative
Comfortable working independently
Interested in developing their hotel management skills
Looking for a genuine long‑term position
Previous hotel or accommodation experience is highly regarded, but you do not need to have been a Hotel Manager. We are happy to train and develop the right person.
This is not purely a reception position.
We are a smaller hotel, so there will be times when you may need to assist housekeeping, inspect rooms, help with gardens, follow up maintenance or deal with unexpected issues.
We want someone who sees what needs doing and gets it done.
A one‑bedroom apartment is available as part of the employment package.
This is particularly suited to someone looking to establish themselves in Cairns and become a long‑term member of our team.
You will work closely with the Hotel Manager and gain experience across Front Office, reservations, housekeeping, staff coordination, maintenance, marketing and general hotel operations.
For the right person, there is an opportunity to take on greater responsibility and progress within the hotel over time.
Minimum 12-month commitment required, with preference for someone looking for a longer‑term position.
