Job summary

Blackbook Executive Pty is seeking an experienced accounts professional for a hands-on role in our Melbourne freight forwarding operation. You will manage AR and AP duties, prepare and issue customer invoices, and support bank reconciliations to ensure clean financial records.

The role requires CargoWise expertise, attention to detail, and proactive communication with customers and suppliers to resolve invoicing issues in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience using CargoWise is essential.
• Experience in Accounts Receivable is essential, with exposure to Accounts Payable highly desirable.
• Understanding of freight forwarding processes, shipping charges and invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities.
• Prepare and process customer invoices, ensuring accuracy across freight and shipping charges.
• Allocate incoming payments and assist with bank reconciliations and balancing transactions.
• Process supplier invoices and payments, ensuring accounts are kept up to date.
• Prepare customer statements and follow up on outstanding invoices where required.
• Respond to customer and supplier queries relating to invoices, payments and account discrepancies.
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.
• Work closely with internal teams to resolve billing issues and support smooth day-to-day operations.

The Role

• Manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities.

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues accurately.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to manage customer and supplier queries professionally.
• Well organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
