Job summary

Synergie Australia is partnering with a well-established logistics business to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Officer to join the finance team in Sydney. The role focuses on day-to-day AP/AR activities within a stable freight forwarding environment.

The ideal candidate will have CargoWise experience, be comfortable managing supplier invoices, reconciliations and collections, and thrive in a collaborative team culture with immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable roles.
• CargoWise experience is essential.
• Experience within the freight forwarding, logistics or transport industry.
• Strong reconciliation and invoicing experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices relating to freight, transport and logistics operations.
• Raise and issue customer invoices accurately and within required deadlines.
• Match supplier costs against shipments, jobs and supporting documentation.
• Manage Accounts Payable functions including payment preparation and processing.
• Manage Accounts Receivable activities including payment allocation and collections.
• Monitor outstanding debtors and follow up overdue accounts.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete customer account reconciliations.
• Process credit notes, invoice adjustments and account corrections.
• Investigate billing and invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate financial records within CargoWise.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal operations teams regarding account queries.
• Assist with month-end activities including accruals and reconciliations.
• Ensure all invoices, charges and costs are accurately captured and allocated.

What you will be required to do

To be successful in the role you will

• Have previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or Accounts Officer position
• Have hands-on CargoWise experience (essential)
• Have experience within the freight forwarding, logistics or transport industry
• Be confident managing both AP and AR responsibilities
• Have strong reconciliation and invoicing experience
• Possess excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Be able to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Have sound Microsoft Excel skills
