Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices for freight, transport and logistics operations.
• Raise and issue customer invoices accurately and on time.
• Match supplier costs against shipments and supporting docs.
• Manage AP functions including payment preparation and processing.
• Manage AR activities including allocations and collections.
• Monitor outstanding debtors and follow up overdue accounts.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations; resolve discrepancies.
• Complete customer account reconciliations.
• Process credit notes and invoice adjustments.
• Investigate billing/invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain CargoWise records and processes.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal teams on account queries.
• Assist with month-end activities and accruals.

Synergie Australia is partnering with a well-established logistics business seeking an experienced Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Officer to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounts professional with experience in the freight forwarding, logistics or transport industry who is looking to join a stable business and play a key role in the day-to-day finance function.

CargoWise experience is essential for this position.

What you will be required to do

• Process supplier invoices relating to freight, transport and logistics operations
• Raise and issue customer invoices accurately and within required deadlines
• Match supplier costs against shipments, jobs and supporting documentation
• Manage Accounts Payable functions including payment preparation and processing
• Manage Accounts Receivable activities including payment allocation and collections
• Monitor outstanding debtors and follow up overdue accounts
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Complete customer account reconciliations
• Process credit notes, invoice adjustments and account corrections
• Investigate billing and invoice discrepancies
• Maintain accurate financial records within CargoWise
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal operations teams regarding account queries
• Assist with month-end activities including accruals and reconciliations
• Ensure all invoices, charges and costs are accurately captured and allocated

To be successful in the role you will

• Have previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or Accounts Officer position
• Have hands‑on CargoWise experience (essential)
• Have experience within the freight forwarding, logistics or transport industry
• Be confident managing both AP and AR responsibilities
• Have strong reconciliation and invoicing experience
• Possess excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Be able to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Have sound Microsoft Excel skills
