Shangri-La the Marina, Cairns is seeking a passionate Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead daily outlets and events, ensuring warm, attentive and personalised service that upholds Shangri-La’s five-star standards. Located beside the Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns, Shangri-La the Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel featuring 255 guest rooms, 19 function venues and extensive food and beverage facilities.

About the Role

As a Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will support the leadership team in the day-to-day operation of our Food & Beverage outlets and functions.

You will lead by example, ensuring our guests receive warm, attentive and personalised service while supporting the team to consistently meet Shangri-La's standards.

This is a hands-on role where you will be actively involved in service while also coaching and supporting colleagues, coordinating operations and helping resolve guest requests and challenges.

Your Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and supporting Food & Beverage colleagues during daily operations, functions and events.
• Leading by example and delivering warm, professional and personalised guest service.
• Ensuring Food & Beverage service standards are consistently maintained.
• Coordinating service periods and allocating duties to team members as required.
• Supporting the opening and closing of outlets and ensuring all areas are appropriately prepared for service.
• Monitoring guest satisfaction and responding promptly and professionally to feedback or concerns.
• Assisting with guest recovery and resolving service issues in consultation with the relevant manager.
• Ensuring food and beverage orders are taken and served accurately and efficiently.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, hygiene and workplace safety.
• Supporting the training, coaching and development of Food & Beverage colleagues.
• Assisting with functions, events and other hotel Food & Beverage operations as required.
• Working closely with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Ensuring hotel policies, procedures and Food & Beverage standards are followed.
• Supporting effective stock control, equipment care and responsible use of hotel resources.
• Assisting the Food & Beverage leadership team with operational requirements and other duties as required.

About You

We are looking for a confident and people-focused hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front and creating memorable guest experiences.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in a Food & Beverage supervisory or senior service role.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest service.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• The ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on service standards.
• The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• A professional approach to handling guest feedback and service recovery.
• A willingness to coach and develop team members.
• Flexibility to work across a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Previous experience in a luxury hotel or high-volume hospitality environment will be highly regarded.
