Job summary

Latrobe City Council is seeking Front of House - Ushers to join the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) and Creative Venues as casual staff. You will greet visitors, assist with seating, provide venue and event information, and support safety and clean public areas during performances and events.

This role offers flexible casual hours, with a focus on evenings and weekends to support a vibrant arts and cultural program in Gippsland.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience delivering and maintaining excellent customer service.
Ability to act responsibly and follow procedures in responding to safety incidents, first aid situations and evacuation requirements.
Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Understanding of, or interest in, the performing arts and front of house operations.
Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests and provide professional, customer-focused service to all visitors attending Council's creative venues.
Check tickets, assist with seating arrangements and manage the seating of late arrivals in accordance with theatre etiquette.
Provide information to patrons regarding venue facilities, performances and events.
Monitor patron safety and wellbeing and assist with venue evacuation procedures when required.
Assist with event set up and pack down activities and help maintain clean and welcoming public areas.
Provide food and beverage services as required and support the efficient operation of Council's creative venues.
