Job summary

SkillQuest Solutions is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager for a transport and logistics client in Thomastown, VIC. The role focuses on day-to-day fleet operations, vehicle scheduling, and compliance with safety standards.

The successful candidate will coordinate drivers, manage maintenance, monitor costs and maintain accurate records. A Diploma in logistics or related field is preferred, with at least 1 year in fleet operations and unrestricted Australian working rights for full-time duties.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in logistics, business or related field.
• Experience in fleet management or transport operations.
• Solid knowledge of fleet operations and scheduling.
• Understanding of Australian road transport regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to coordinate drivers and vehicles effectively.
• Experience monitoring fleet performance and costs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily coordination of vehicles, drivers and transport activities.
• Allocate vehicles, schedule drivers and routes for efficiency.
• Monitor fleet performance, costs and utilisation.
• Arrange servicing, maintenance and inspections to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety, registration and insurance requirements.
• Supervise drivers and transport staff, enforcing procedures.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to coordinate transport needs.
• Maintain accurate fleet records of maintenance, fuel and expenses.
• Manage fleet budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop fleet management procedures to improve safety and performance.
• Oversee acquisition, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles.
