Laurent Bakery in Melbourne's South Yarra is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily café operations, create a welcoming customer experience and coach a vibrant team on the shop floor. You will own service flow, drive sales, manage labour, stock and wastage while ensuring high standards of presentation, food safety and safety procedures.

The role is hands-on with strong floor presence, requiring availability for opening/closing shifts, weekends, and some public holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Store Manager, Café Manager, Venue Manager or Hospitality Manager in a busy café, bakery, food retail or similar hospitality environment.
• A hands-on leadership style, with the ability to coach, motivate and develop a team.
• Experience achieving sales targets and managing labour costs, rosters, stock and wastage.
• A strong customer service focus and a calm, practical approach during busy service periods.
• Clear communication, sound organisational skills and a passion for hospitality.
• Availability for opening and closing shifts, weekends and some public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily café operations, creating a welcoming customer experience.
• Coach team members and drive service standards.
• Manage sales, labour, stock and wastage to meet targets and budgets.
• Plan rosters and manage labour costs in line with budgets and trading requirements.
• Oversee stock ordering, availability and wastage to maintain quality and control costs.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and use feedback to improve their experience.
• Maintain store presentation, cleanliness, food safety and workplace safety standards.
• Support opening and closing teams to ensure consistent operations throughout the day.
