Job summary

Bathurst Motor Group is seeking a Fixed Operations Manager to lead both the Service and Parts departments. You will drive productivity, maximise workshop capacity, and develop your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences while improving revenue and profitability across fixed operations.

You will report to the General Manager and own budgeting, KPI delivery, warranty processes, and alignment with manufacturer requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Fixed Operations/Service Manager role.
• Strong understanding of Service and Parts operations.
• Track record of achieving budgets and improving profitability.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret P&L statements.
• Experience with dealership management systems.

FIXED OPERATIONS MANAGER – SERVICE & PARTS

As Fixed Operations Manager, you will take ownership of both the Service and Parts departments, driving operational excellence while ensuring an outstanding customer experience. You will be responsible for developing your team, improving productivity, maximising workshop capacity and identifying opportunities to grow revenue and profitability across both departments. This is a key senior management position, reporting directly to the General Manager, with responsibility for the overall performance, profitability and growth of the fixed operations business.

Key responsibilities

• Drive workshop productivity, technician efficiency and labour profitability.
• Maximise workshop utilisation, labour sales and customer retention.
• Manage service department budgets, gross profit and operational KPIs.
• Oversee warranty processes, manufacturer compliance and policy expenses.
• Ensure effective workshop scheduling, job allocation and repair order management.
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards and resolve escalated customer concerns.
• Oversee parts department performance, profitability and inventory management.
• Manage stock levels, aged inventory, obsolescence and stock turnover.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Service and Parts teams.
• Establish clear KPIs and accountability across both departments.

About you

• Proven experience as a Fixed Operations Manager, Service Manager or senior automotive dealership leader.
• Strong understanding of dealership Service and Parts operations.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve budgets, improve profitability and drive operational KPIs.
• Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
• Sound financial acumen and the ability to interpret departmental profit and loss statements.
• Experience with dealership management systems and manufacturer processes.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
