Job summary

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd in Mackay is seeking an experienced Field Service Heavy Equipment Diesel Fitter to join our service department. This permanent full-time role focuses on heavy diesel mechanics and mobile plant fitting, with emphasis on diagnostics, maintenance and repairs for our valued customer base.

Ideal candidates will have trade qualifications (Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering - Diesel Fitting or Automotive Plant) and experience with construction

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications - Minimum Certificate III in a Mechanical Engineering (Diesel Fitting or Automotive Plant).
• Experience with Construction and mining Equipment – highly desirable.
• Experience & skillset - Heavy Diesel mechanics and field service fitters with knowledge of construction equipment; Hitachi experience valued.
• Positive can-do attitude.
• Analytical thinking for repair/maintenance with minimal rework.
• Autonomous productivity and planning to deliver quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel machinery and mobile plant equipment.
• Provide field service to customers with focus on safety and quality.
• Plan and schedule work fronts to deliver total customer satisfaction.

The Opportunity

Our Mackay Branch has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Field Service Heavy Equipment Diesel Fitter to join our service department. This is a permanent full-time position, which will see you focus on all aspects of Heavy Diesel mechanics and mobile plant equipment fitting. This role will be best suited to someone who has strong focus on diagnostics, maintenance and repairs for our valued customer base.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Need

• Trade Qualifications - Minimum Certificate III in a Mechanical Engineering (Diesel Fitting or Automotive Plant).
• Experience working with Construction and mining Equipment – highly desired
• Experience & Skillset - Heavy Diesel mechanics and field service fitters with demonstrated work experience and technical knowledge of construction equipment - Hitachi equipment experience highly regarded
• Positive can do attitude
• Analytical thinking - Ability to navigate complex technical issues in repair and maintenance services with minimal to zero rework
• Autonomous productivity - Initiative to plan work fronts efficiently and effectively, delivering quality outcomes to ensure Total Customer Satisfaction
