Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is seeking a Field Service Fitter/Heavy Diesel Mechanic in Gunnedah to diagnose, repair and maintain Hitachi equipment across sites. You will support shutdowns and customer fleets, ensuring high-quality service and proactive problem solving.

The role reports to the Service Coordinator and involves commissioning new equipment, thorough documentation, and building strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Mobile Plant Mechanics or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and upgrade Hitachi machinery at sites.
• Respond to breakdowns and conduct diagnostic work.

An opportunity exists to join HCA as a Field Service Fitter or Heavy Diesel Mechanic for our Gunnedah Branch. In this role, you will provide diagnostic, repairs, and maintenance services to multiple sites, shutdowns and customer fleets across customer Mining and Construction Projects. This role is perfect for someone focused on quality service, proactive problem-solving, and delivering exceptional service outcomes.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Service Coordinator, your responsibilities include:

• Diagnosing, maintaining, and upgrading Hitachi machinery
• Responding to breakdowns and conducting diagnostics
• Joining the build team to commission new equipment
• Completing and submitting required documentation
• Maintaining strong relationships with customers, peers, and departments
