Job summary

Mates Food & Beverage is growing its collection of brands across independent supermarkets and horeca channels. You will win new business, establish relationships with retailers, and represent our brands to the market with energy and enthusiasm.

You’ll work directly with founders to grow our brands, onboard customers to a seamless ordering system, and provide market feedback to help steer product strategy. This full-time role includes a car allowance and flexible options for experienced

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role such as hospitality, retail or customer service.
• Established relationships across town.
• FMCG or grocery sales experience is helpful but not required.
• Motivated, proactive, with high energy.
• Eager to learn and progress in a growing company.
• Must have a car, a valid license and a phone.

Responsibilities

• Win new business with independent grocers, specialty retailers, cafes and sandwich shops.
• Build relationships with key retail stakeholders.
• Brand Ambassador, introducing our brands to retailers and the broader market.
• Onboard customers to seamless ordering system and ensure smooth adoption.
• Track progress in a CRM and report back.
• Be the eyes and ears in the market, feeding back to the founders.

Mates Food & Beverage is about to take the market by storm and we're looking for the best sales guns in town to join in the fun.

Mates is a collection of emerging brands that are joining forces to build an unmissable presence in the independent supermarket and Horeca channels.

Beverages, chocolate and coffee brands coming together to win together, as mates.

Mates is a new entity founded by the team behind Quest Beverages - Calm & Stormy mineral water, Thrills brewed soda and Flippa juices. We've been chatting to our mates in the start-up food and beverage industry and found we all have the same challenge. We've got great products, cool brands, but just need to get out and talk to more customers.

That's where you come in. Work directly with a group of founders to help us grow our brands. Win new business. Build presence in stores. Develop great relationships.

About the role

• Win new business with the best independent grocers, speciality retailers, cafes and sandwich shops
• Build relationships with key retail stakeholders
• Brand Ambassador, introducing our brands to retailers and the broader market
• Fight for presence for our brands on the best shelf, in the best fridgesOnboard customers to seamless ordering system
• Track progress in an easy-to-use CRM
• Be our eyes and ears in the market, feeding back directly into the founders.

About you

• Experience in customer facing role - could be hospitality, retail or customer service
• Established relationships across town
• FMCG or grocery, Horeca sales experience is great, but not necessary
• Motivated, self-starter with great energy
• Hungry to learn and progress
• Have a car, license and phone
• Full-time employment with car allowance. Or Part-time for someone with great experience looking for some flexibility to fit around life.
