Job summary

Mates Food & Beverage is building a Melbourne-based sales team to grow a collection of emerging brands in independent supermarkets, horeca, cafes and sandwich shops. You’ll be at the heart of our growth, driving new business and nurturing key relationships in a collaborative founder-led environment.

Join a group of energetic professionals, with a car allowance and flexible options to fit around life. Training and mentoring accompany rapid scale as the brands expand across Australia.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles such as hospitality, retail or customer service.
• Established relationships across town.
• FMCG or grocery, Horeca sales experience is helpful but not required.
• Motivated, self-starter with great energy.
• Hungry to learn and progress.
• Have a car, license and phone.
• Full-time with car allowance; part-time for flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Win new business with independent grocers, speciality retailers, cafes and sandwich shops.
• Build relationships with key retail stakeholders.
• Brand Ambassador, introducing our brands to retailers and the broader market.
• Fight for presence on the best shelves and in the best fridges.
• Onboard customers to a seamless ordering system.
• Track progress in an easy-to-use CRM.
• Be our eyes and ears in the market, feeding back to the founders.

Mates Food & Beverage is about to take the market by storm and we’re looking for the best sales guns in town to join in the fun.

Mates is a collection of emerging brands that are joining forces to build an unmissable presence in the independent supermarket and Horeca channels.

Beverages, chocolate and coffee brands coming together to win together, as mates.

Mates is a new entity founded by the team behind Quest Beverages – Calm & Stormy mineral water, Thrills brewed soda and Flippa juices. We’ve been chatting to our mates in the start‑up food and beverage industry and found we all have the same challenge. We’ve got great products, cool brands, but just need to get out and talk to more customers.

That’s where you come in. Work directly with a group of founders to help us grow our brands. Win new business. Build presence in stores. Develop great relationships.

About the role

• Win new business with the best independent grocers, speciality retailers, cafes and sandwich shops
