Job summary

Oceanic Controls is seeking an External Sales Engineer to combine strong technical capability with relationship-building across Queensland. The role covers the Oil & Gas, Mining and Industrial Processing sectors, delivering practical solutions that improve reliability, safety and performance.

This field-based position focuses on growing customer relationships, providing technical guidance, and developing opportunities to drive business growth while maintaining a customer-first approach.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or strong mechanical background.
• Experience in technical sales or customer-facing industrial roles.
• Exposure to valves, control valves, safety devices or similar mechanical products.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Mining, Industrial Processing or related industries.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; CRM experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Conduct regular customer visits, site inspections and meetings.
• Understand challenges and identify practical, value-added solutions.
• Provide technical advice and product recommendations.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and follow-up activities.
• Manage opportunities and CRM interactions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure outcomes.
• Develop new business opportunities within markets.
• Support sales growth and BD objectives.
• Represent Oceanic Controls professionally with a customer-first approach.
