Job summary

Fairfield City Council is seeking a motivated Community Enforcement Officer to join the Community Regulatory Services team. You will apply regulatory knowledge to enforce legislation and council policies with integrity and compassion.

The role involves companion animal capture, parking enforcement, and complex investigations, including issuing notices and attending court when required. This position offers a 9-day fortnight roster and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Understanding of administration and enforcement of Companion Animals Act, Local Government Act and Road Rules.
• Qualified in Regulatory Services or extensive related experience.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Ability to provide professional customer service on behalf of Council.
• Knowledge of privacy laws when handling confidential data.
• Experience using standard office software for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Capture and handle companion animals as required.
• Perform parking enforcement and investigations into breaches.
• Issue penalty infringement notices or Council/ Court notices.
• Report risk and liability issues to Council with integrity and impartiality.
