Job summary

Fairfield City Council is seeking a motivated Community Enforcement Officer to join the Community Regulatory Services division on a permanent full-time basis. The role involves enforcing companion animals, parking rules, and investigating breaches with integrity and impartiality. You'll work a 9-day fortnight roster, with shifts 5am–10pm, and receive a base salary of $80,758 p.a.

plus performance-based progression to $94,595 p.a. and 12% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Understanding of responsibilities to administer the Companion Animals Act, Local Government Act, Road Rules and related legislation.
• Qualifications in Regulatory Services or extensive job-related experience in a regulatory field.
• Strong communication skills with ability to handle conflict in sensitive situations.
• Ability to provide quality customer service and represent Council professionally.
• Awareness of privacy laws when handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Companion Animals Act, Local Government Act, Road Rules and related policies.
• Issue infringement notices, Council Orders or Court attendance notices as required.
• Conduct complex investigations and contribute to risk management reporting.
• Liaise with customers and stakeholders, maintaining impartiality and integrity.
