Job summary

SunPork Group is seeking an experienced Feedmill Manager to lead the Wasleys feedmill's day-to-day operations. You will head a small team, ensure on-time production and supply of finished feed, and uphold safety, quality, and inventory controls across facilities.

You will drive efficiency, reduce downtime and champion a culture of continuous improvement while collaborating with nutrition, quality and farm teams across SunPork's South Australian operations.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience in feedmill operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all feedmill manufacturing operations to ensure on-time production and supply.

We are now looking for an experienced Feedmill Manager to join our team at Wasleys, South Australia.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of a key feedmill supporting SunPork's South Australian operations.

Reporting to the GM – Feed Supply Chain, you will be responsible for the efficient manufacture and timely supply of finished feed, while leading a small operational team and maintaining high standards across safety, quality, production, inventory and equipment performance.

You will play an important role in ensuring production targets are achieved while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, minimise downtime and strengthen feedmill operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all feedmill manufacturing operations to ensure finished feed is produced and supplied on time.
• Monitor production performance, identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Manage raw material inventory and stock control, with a strong focus on avoiding stockouts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Ensure raw materials are appropriately inspected, handled and stored in accordance with company procedures.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions and production records.
• Oversee preventative maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Support budgeting and maintain cost control in line with agreed targets.
• Identify opportunities for capital improvements that enhance efficiency, safety, quality or cost effectiveness.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all WHS policies and procedures are followed.
• Support the FeedSafe quality program and promote a culture where the team actively identifies and addresses quality issues.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and training to feedmill team members.
• Develop team capability and succession planning, including training staff to provide relief management support when required.
• Work closely with feed supply chain, logistics, nutrition, quality and farm teams to ensure the feed supply chain operates effectively.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• At least 12 months' experience in feedmill operations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
• Experience working with production processes, equipment and operational procedures.
• The ability to lead, guide and support a small operational team.
• Clear and effective communication skills with a collaborative approach.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet production deadlines.
