Job summary

The Sunpork Group’s Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory is seeking a dedicated QA professional to monitor and support the Company Quality Assurance Systems. You will partner with production to ensure the best possible product is delivered daily, while upholding SunPork values across the facility.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will conduct product testing, audits, and documentation, driving continuous improvement in food safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in the food industry is preferable.
• Experience with regulatory and commercial food standards is desirable.
• Experience with food safety verification activities is highly regarded.
• Ability to communicate effectively and promote a food safety culture.
• Must work well in a team and autonomously with strong reporting skills.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail are essential.
• Rotating roster and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor personal, operational hygiene and product integrity compliance; use Recognise, Rectify, Report method.
• Conduct product testing and environmental sampling per procedures.
• Liaise with QA Coordinator and department managers on quality issues.
• Attend training; conduct audits (GMP, internal) as required.
• Monitor and verify corrective actions; document results.
• Maintain documentation: filing, data entry, reporting, tracebacks.
• Support staff understanding of food safety and related procedures.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Coordinator, the purpose of this role is to and monitor and provide ongoing support of the Company Quality Assurance Systems through partnering with the production team to ensure that we are sending the best possible product to the customer, every day.

Key accountabilities include:

• Monitor personal, operational hygiene and product integrity compliance as a matter or priority. When issues are identified, utilise the Recognise, Rectify, Report method.
• Conduct product testing and environmental sampling as per procedures and as instructed by the Quality Coordinator.
• Liaise with the Quality Assurance Coordinator, Department managers and supervisors on any quality issues.
• Attend any training necessary for the role; where relevant, conduct internal audits, GMP audits, and any other periodical checks as instructed by QA Coordinator.
• Monitor and verify corrective and preventative actions as instructed by the QA Coordinator, report and document accordingly.
• Exercise good communication and consultation practices daily within the QA team, and with other teams as required, including changeover notes, correct reporting, collection and compiling facts, and documentation.
• Perform documentation tasks such as filing, computer data entry, electronic reporting, and tracebacks as required by the QA Coordinator.
• Actively participate in developing staff understanding of food safety and related procedures and protocols, in the course of daily duties.

What we’re looking for

Swickers has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team. As a key member you will have:

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• 3-5 years' experience working in food industry experience preferable.
• Experience with regulatory and commercial food standards and experience with food safety verification activities are highly regarded.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to adapt communication styles as required to convey food safety messages while promoting food safety culture
• Must be able to work effectively both in a team and autonomously, with proven reporting skills.
• Excellent time management skills are required.
• Rotating roster and flexibility, including weekends as required
• Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for process and systems will serve you well this role.
