Job summary

The Star Brisbane is seeking an Administration Assistant to join our Food & Beverage and Events team. You’ll be the information hub, handling guest inquiries, dining reservations and small functions, while supporting onboarding and communications to keep the team running smoothly.

Reporting to the General Manager Food & Beverage and Events, you’ll work closely with venue leaders and guests in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Business Administration qualification and Opera knowledge are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest and stakeholder enquiries and assist with dining reservations and small functions.
• Attend venue marketing and activation meetings and support stakeholders.
• Provide general administrative support: correspondence, filing, call screening, minuting meetings, reception duties.
• Coordinate new hires and onboarding of new team members.
• Assist with team member transfers, terminations and payroll queries.
• Manage departmental communications via email and heart-of-house boards.
• Oversee purchasing, payments and invoicing end-to-end, including issuing invoices and balancing accounts.
• Collate reports and performance metrics for management.
• Maintain accurate confidential records and tidy office space.
• Deliver exceptional client and guest service at every touchpoint.

About the Role

The Star Brisbane is seeking a professional, organised and service-focused Administration Assistant to join our Food & Beverage and Events team.

In this varied role, you'll be the information hub for our department, responding to guest enquiries across all areas of our business, with a strong focus on our food and beverage outlets. You'll assist with dining reservations, support small functions, attend venue marketing and activation meetings, and keep our team running smoothly through great administration, communication and onboarding support. Reporting to the General Manager Food & Beverage and Events, you'll work closely with venue leaders, stakeholders and guests.

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing the end-to-end purchasing, payments and invoicing process, including issuing invoices and balancing accounts
• Collating reports and performance metrics for management
• Maintaining accurate and confidential records, and keeping the office space tidy and stocked
• Delivering exceptional client and guest service at every touchpoint

You will bring:

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time-management skills in a high-pressure environment
• A customer-focused, service-oriented and professional attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong knowledge of food & beverage products, trends and industry practices
• Flexible availability to suit the needs of the business, especially during peak periods
• A genuine hospitality career focus and the ambition to grow with a dynamic department

Business Administration tertiary qualification and prior knowledge of Opera are advantageous but not essential.
