Are you an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys building relationships, supporting leaders, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes? Join Multicultural Affairs Queensland and contribute to work that helps strengthen and celebrate Queensland's diverse communities.

In this rewarding role, you'll provide secretariat support to the Multicultural Queensland Advisory Council (MQAC), chaired by the Minister for Multiculturalism, while delivering high-quality executive and administrative support across the business. You'll work with a broad range of stakeholders and play an important part in ensuring effective governance, sound recordkeeping, and seamless business operations.

We're looking for someone who is professional, adaptable and collaborative, with experience supporting boards, councils or committees.

Multicultural Affairs Queensland (MAQ) leads the development and monitors the implementation of the Queensland Government's multicultural policies. MAQ provides advice on multicultural issues, facilitates partnerships, administers funding programs, maintains liaison with multicultural communities and promotes positive community relations across Queensland.

We value having a workforce that reflects the diverse views, experiences and backgrounds of the community we serve. We strongly encourage enquiries and applications from people with diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

About the Role:

As the Executive Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the operations of Multicultural Affairs Queensland and the Multicultural Queensland Advisory Council (MQAC), chaired by the Minister for Multiculturalism. Working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will provide high-level secretariat and executive support, helping to ensure strong governance, effective stakeholder engagement, and the smooth delivery of business operations.

You will coordinate meetings and events, prepare high-quality correspondence and briefing materials, manage records and information systems, and act as a key point of contact for council members and stakeholders. Your ability to exercise sound judgement, manage competing priorities, and maintain confidentiality will be critical to your success.

What You'll Bring:

We're seeking an experienced and proactive administrator with a strong understanding of governance, compliance, and recordkeeping requirements. You will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing complex administrative processes in a sensitive and dynamic environment.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Experience providing high-level secretariat support to boards, councils, committees or senior executives.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate meetings, travel, events and competing priorities.
- Excellent written communication skills, including preparing correspondence, briefing notes, reports, and meeting documentation.
- A sound understanding of governance, recordkeeping, and information management practices.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that supports Queensland's diverse communities while working with a dedicated and supportive team.

Please note: Successful applicants will be subject to a criminal history check relevant to their role. This may include a blue card screening for roles that work with children or a Disability Worker Screening.
