Job summary

Thomastown Secondary College in Melbourne's north seeks a motivated classroom teacher for Years 7–12. The role covers planning, preparation and teaching with responsibilities across two salary ranges (Range 1 and Range 2) aligned to the school’s curriculum, assessment and student support priorities.

You will contribute to professional learning, data-informed practice, and collaboration with staff, parents and the school community, while modelling high-quality instruction and supporting student

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform practice.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate with students, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to professional learning and reflective practice to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students within Years 7–12.
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging programs to achieve student outcomes.
• Use student data to inform teaching approaches and provide feedback on progress.
• Contribute to school policies, priorities and professional learning initiatives.
• Mentor and supervise student teachers and support staff.
• Collaborate with parents and the wider school community to support student learning.
