Job summary

Civica in Australia is seeking an Engineering Manager to be based in Melbourne or Sydney. You will lead a hands-on team of 4–6 engineers while continuing to contribute technically, delivering customer-facing SaaS products and solving complex problems.

You will drive Agile delivery, system design and modern software practices, collaborating with product managers to align roadmaps with organisational priorities. A flexible, hybrid work environment is supported.

Qualifications

• 5+ years to 8 years of software engineering experience, including leadership of a small team.
• Hands-on full-stack development across backend and frontend.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and product collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a team of 4–6 engineers, building trust and high performance.
• Lead Agile/Scrum delivery, remove blockers and communicate across teams and customers.
• Apply strong coding, system design and modern software engineering practices.
• Use delivery signals to guide decisions and improve ways of working.
• Contribute to team and product roadmaps aligned with priorities.
