Job summary

Canva seeks a senior engineering leader to head the Core team within Production Engineering. You will guide a group of engineers who own services across Canva, translating ambiguous problems into concrete goals and delivering scalable, reliable capabilities.

You will coach engineers, shape priorities, and drive cross-team collaboration to broaden impact. You’ll work closely with Embedded and Core to define the next phase, set standards, and create loops that turn learnings into reusable

Qualifications

• Strong leadership of software engineers in complex projects.
• Experience in reliable, scalable production environments.
• Ability to translate problems into engineering goals and actionable plans.
• Clear communication of trade-offs and architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers in Production Engineering Core, turning complex problems into focused goals.
• Own day-to-day health of the Core team: set priorities, coach engineers, and foster psychological safety.
• Define the team’s next phase, focus, and measurable outcomes across Core and Embedded collaborations.
• Grow engineering depth by coaching on cross-team, high-impact initiatives.
