Job summary

Scenic Rim Regional Council in Beaudesert, QLD, is seeking an Engineering Fabrication Fitter and Turner for a full-time role in Infrastructure Services. The position supervises and participates in repair and maintenance of Council’s Plant and Equipment, overseeing the machine shop and welding section, and contributing to efficient maintenance programs.

The role is based in Beaudesert, with possible work from other Scenic Rim offices, and requires trade certificates in Boiler Making and

Qualifications

• Completed trade certificate in Boiler Maker.
• Completed trade certificate in Fitting and Machining.
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle under a C and LR Class Licence.
• Sound knowledge of fitting, welding and machining for repair of plant and equipment.
• Demonstrated experience in a heavy plant Workshop.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of Council's plant fleet and associated equipment.
• Fabrication of components as requested by other departments for repair/modifications of Council structures.
• Provide a quality field welding service.
• Review and evaluate procedures and techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in the design process and supervise modifications to plant and equipment.

About this opportunity

To supervise and participate in the repair and maintenance of Council’s Plant and Equipment. Supervise and monitor the operations of machine shop and welding section of Council’s Workshop. Contribute to the corporate objectives of the organisation by the provision of efficient and effective maintenance programs, repairs and services.
The position is based in Beaudesert, but you may be required to work from any of Council’s offices (Boonah and Tamborine Mountain) or facilities within the Scenic Rim.

What’s in it for you?

This position comes with a base remuneration from $76,617.22, working a 38hr week, 9 day fortnight, and up to 13% employer superannuation contribution.
