Job summary

Scenic Rim Regional Council – Beaudesert QLD is seeking a Landfill Maintenance Operator to join Infrastructure Services on a full-time basis at the Bromelton Landfill. You will perform landfill operations, plant maintenance and site duties in a dynamic regional environment.

Based at Bromelton Central Landfill, you’ll work a 38-hour week, 9-day fortnight, with the potential for up to 13% employer superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy machinery and operating landfill equipment.
• MR/HR licence required to operate vehicles.
• Construction Induction Card (CIC) essential.
• Experience in general labouring duties is a plus.

• Processing waste at landfill tip face.
• Operate landfill plant including tracked loader, compactor, ADT and excavator as required.
• Undertake maintenance on landfill plant and machinery including pre-start checks, cleaning, reporting faults.

About this opportunity

The Landfill Maintenance Operator will contribute to Council’s Environmental compliance obligations by utilising industry and operating skills and undertaking a broad range of plant operation and maintenance tasks including landfill operations, landfill machinery maintenance, pump and irrigation systems and general site maintenance at the Bromelton Landfill.
The position is based out of the Bromelton Central Landfill, but you may be required to work from any of Council’s facilities within the Scenic Rim.

Additionally, you’ll also …

• Processing Waste at landfill tip face.
• Operation of landfill plant including tracked loader, compactor, articulated dump truck and excavator as required along with labouring duties as required.
• Undertake maintenance on landfill plant and machinery including pre-start checks, cleaning of tracks and wheels, washing inside and outside and reporting faults to Council's fleet workshop.
• Other site maintenance duties such as dust suppression using water cart, litter collection, desilting and cleaning of drains.

About you…

• Tracked Front end Loader and Self Propelled Compactor competencies.
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle under a MR/HR Class Licence.
• General Construction Induction card essential.
• Experience with heavy machinery including excavators, articulated dump trucks and water carts highly regarded.
• Experience with general labouring duties.

What’s in it for you?

This position comes with a base remuneration from $70,989.75 per annum, working a 38hr week, 9 day fortnight, and up to 13% employer superannuation contribution.
