Job summary

Sharp & Carter in Sydney is seeking a Claims Specialist to own a portfolio of around 100 General Insurance claims from lodgement to settlement. You will work directly with brokers and customers in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

You will investigate, interpret policy wording, assess coverage, negotiate settlements, and build relations with brokers and stakeholders. Training is provided; there is a path to broader movement within the business and a people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Experience handling General Insurance claims.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence to make decisions and manage competing priorities.
• Curiosity and a genuine desire to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 claims end to end, from lodgement through to settlement and recoveries.
• Investigate claims, interpret policy wording and assess coverage.
• Make commercially balanced decisions within your delegated authority.
• Negotiate settlements and determine liability and exclusions.
• Build strong relationships with brokers, customers and external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with Underwriting and the wider business.
• Deliver fair, efficient and customer-focused outcomes.
