Qualifications

• Essential – experience with psychosocial disabilities and complex mental health needs.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Police check within last three months.
• First Aid Certificate within last three years.
• WWCC for paid NSW employment.
• Driver’s licence with access to insured vehicle.
• Respect for diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support and foster resilience.
• Collaborate with participants to build psychosocial skills.
• De-escalate heightened emotions and redirect behaviours.
• Support participants to achieve personal goals and independence.
• Deliver personal care with dignity and sensitivity.
• Engage participants in social and recreational activities.
• Provide safe, reliable transport for appointments and events.
• Assist with household tasks to maintain a safe living environment.
• Maintain clear communication with participants, families and health pros.
• Document case notes and progress promptly after shifts.
• Deliver culturally appropriate, respectful services.
• Respond to crisis situations following protocols.
• Help develop life skills like budgeting and time management.
• Engage in professional development and service improvement.
