Qualifications

• Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, families and professionals.
• Ability to work in a busy environment both independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues.
• Clear Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Clearance.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Support participation in community programs that bring joy, connection, and experiences worth remembering.
• Assist with daily living tasks - personal care, meal prep, and nutrition - ensuring participants live comfortably and confidently.
• Provide safe mobility assistance, including hoist transfers and manual handling.
• Support individuals with complex behaviours, including behaviours of concern, non-verbal communication, and property damage, in a safe and respectful way.
• Support clients with epilepsy management and PEG feeding, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Keep accurate records and progress notes, ensuring continuity of care that enhances participant experiences.

ESSENTIAL

• Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities


• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work and communicate effectively with clients, their families, community agencies and other professionals.


• Ability to work in a very busy environment and to work both independently and as a part of a team.


• Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues.


• A cleared Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Clearance.


• NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate


• Apply First Aid and CPR certification

DESIRABLE

• Trained or experienced with medication administration


• Certificate III in Disability or other relevant qualification or working towards obtaining qualification within 12 months.


• Experience in the delivery of personal care services and/or challenging behaviours is viewed favourably
