Job summary

Community Living Options is seeking a caring disability support worker to empower a participant in Goolwa, SA. You will help with daily living, personal care, and community activities in a respectful, nut-free home environment.

We value patience, empathy, and a person-centred approach, offering ongoing training and a supportive team including a Service Coordinator. Applicants with lived experience are welcome.

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Screening is required.
• Working with Children Check is required.
• A current Driver’s Licence is required.
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificates are required.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care) or similar qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support me to make my own choices, build my independence, and work towards the goals that are important to me.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with me, responding with patience, empathy, and consistency.
• Encourage me to stay connected to my community, including attending Day Options and catching up with my friends, cooking and baking.
• Understand my support needs and follow the strategies that help me feel safe, supported, including ensuring that my home is a nut‑free environment.
• Respect my dignity, rights, and individuality, while promoting choice, inclusion, and empowerment in everyday life.
• Work collaboratively with my support team to provide consistent, person‑centred support.
• Assist me with personal care and daily living tasks in a way that maintains my dignity and independence.
• Contribute to a safe environment by following behaviour support strategies, risk assessments, and positive behaviour support approaches.
