Mills Recruitment is sourcing an experienced Electrical Engineer for a Ballarat-based team, Australia. The role covers electrical and automation components of client projects across agriculture and manufacturing sectors.

You will deliver electrical strategies, control system designs and project documentation, collaborating with suppliers, engineers and customers. Ballarat location, strong safety and project delivery focus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ Electrical Engineering experience.
• 3+ years’ PLC experience.
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology / Electrical.
• Experience designing electrical control systems and producing drawings.

• Good commercial and business awareness.

• Experience within agriculture, grain handling, food processing, metal manufacturing or other industrial environments will be highly regarded.

• Contributing to HAZOPs where required.

The business is continuing to grow across Australia and internationally, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their Ballarat-based team.

This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and being involved in projects from initial concept and design through to delivery. It could also be a great opportunity for a New Zealand-based engineer with Australian working rights who is ready for a move across the Tasman.

About the role

Reporting to the Electrical Projects Manager, you’ll work as part of the Electrical Project Management team and play a key role in delivering the electrical and automation components of customer projects.

You’ll be involved in a mix of electrical engineering, control systems, design, project support and technical problem-solving, working closely with internal engineering and project teams, suppliers, contractors and customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing electrical strategies and engineering solutions for projects

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and PLCs, and someone who enjoys working through technical challenges and finding practical solutions.
You’ll ideally bring:

• 3+ years’ Electrical Engineering experience


• 3+ years’ PLC experience


• Relevant electrical qualifications, ideally Certificate III in Electrotechnology / Electrical


• Experience designing electrical control systems and producing drawings


• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability


• High attention to detail


• Good commercial and business awareness


• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across a project team


• A commitment to safe working practices

Experience within agriculture, grain handling, food processing, metal manufacturing or other industrial environments will be highly regarded.
