Job description

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer seeking a career-defining role where you can solve complex technical challenges and lead major industrial capital projects?

Join a nationally recognised, market-leading Australian industrial manufacturer at the forefront of sustainable heavy manufacturing and lower-carbon technology transformation. Reporting directly to the Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a key technical lead role delivering end-to-end capital works-ranging from brownfield plant optimisations to multi-million-dollar infrastructure investments across a regional capital portfolio of up to $100 million annually.

Whether your background is rooted in heavy industrial manufacturing and continuous process plants or HV/LV power systems, substations, and electrical asset management, this role offers a diverse platform to expand your skills, manage multidisciplinary contractors, and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capital Project Delivery: Facilitate and manage electrical capital projects from early concept, scoping, and feasibility studies through to detailed design, installation, commissioning, and final site handover.
  • Electrical Design & Standards Compliance: Develop and review plant layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, cable schedules, and max demand/sizing calculations ensuring strict alignment with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, and AS 2067.
  • Power Infrastructure & Substation Support: Oversee site High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical distribution networks, transformers, switchboards, protection relays, and power quality/energy monitoring assets.
  • Control Systems & Automation Integration: Collaborate on PLCs, SCADA, and DCS system integration, fault investigation, control loop tuning, and instrument optimisations across heavy continuous manufacturing lines.
  • Contractor & Procurement Oversight: Prepare RFQs, technical tender specifications, bid evaluations, and supervise site contractors to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget execution.
  • Continuous Improvement & Sustainability: Identify energy efficiency, safety in design, and process optimisation initiatives to support decarbonisation and sustainable manufacturing goals.
