Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director level Electrical Engineer to join our national Building Engineering team, based in Sydney or Perth. You will manage a large team of building services engineers and modellers, contributing to landmark projects across Australia and New Zealand.

You will lead technical delivery, governance and client relationships, with a strong emphasis on innovation, quality and team development. The role offers hybrid work options in a dynamic, global firm.

Qualifications

• The role requires a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with 20+ years of consultancy experience delivering complex building services projects.
• Chartership with Engineers Australia (CPEng) or equivalent registration and eligibility for state level registration (RPEQ/RPEV).
• Extensive technical expertise in electrical building services design aligned with Australian codes and standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across clients, contractors and senior teams.
• Proven track record in project and commercial management and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary building projects across health, education, defence, transport, commercial, aviation, sports and data centres in ANZ.
• Provide technical leadership and governance across electrical building services design ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
• Drive innovation and high-quality outcomes by reviewing calculations, specifications, models and documentation.
• Build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development and pipeline growth.
• Mentor and develop multidisciplinary services engineering teams and foster a high-performance culture.
• Strengthen Building Services capability across ANZ and contribute to regional strategy and growth.
