Job summary

AECOM in Sydney seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical building services across aviation, healthcare, data centres, and transport projects.

You will act as the senior technical authority, guiding design, installation strategies and system integration while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. AECOM supports mentoring of engineers and embraces hybrid work arrangements in this role.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple technical projects in building services.
• Deep knowledge of Australian Standards and building codes.
• Experience delivering complex electrical solutions for buildings and infrastructure.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and client-facing communication skills.
• Chartered engineer status and local registrations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of sophisticated electrical engineering solutions across Health, Defence, Transport and data centre projects.
• Act as senior technical authority providing review and oversight of electrical design and installation strategies.
• Oversee multiple electrical projects concurrently, managing programme delivery and client expectations.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems into building services.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to foster technical excellence.
