Job summary

Zeal Futures in Australia seeks a motivated trainee electrician apprentice to work on mining machinery, read diagrams, locate faults, and help service equipment while completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology.

You'll join a team, maintain fitness, obtain a Coal Board medical, and progress through nationally recognised training with mentoring and exposure across employers, starting January 2027.

Qualifications

• Team player and reliable with a positive attitude.
• Strong maths ability and good problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to undertake safety and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance on mining machinery/equipment/site.
• Read electrical diagrams, drawings, or specifications to determine job requirements.
• Test, locate, and repair electrical faults.
• Service and repair existing mining equipment.
• Assist in general duties within the apprentice's competence.

Job description

Whilst studying a Certificate III in Electrotechnology working with Peabody Energy over 4 years, you’ll have the opportunity to work on:

• General maintenance on mining machinery/equipment/site
• Read electrical diagrams, drawings, or specifications to determine job requirements
• Test, locate, and repair electrical faults
• Service and repair existing mining equipment
• Assist in general duties that are within the limits of the skills, competence, and ability of an apprentice.

• You’re reliable and ready to give your best each day.
• Strong mathematic ability.
• Enjoy maintaining physical fitness.
• Ability to attend 8-week TAFE course commencing January 2027

Must-haves -

• Current drivers licence (provisional or above)
• White Card
• Willingness to undergo a Coal Board Order 45 Medical, Functional, and Respirator Fit Test
