Job summary

Zeal Futures Pty invites experienced electricians to transition into a Trade Trainer role, delivering hands-on training and shaping the next generation of tradespeople. You will mentor students, refine training materials, and work with the Training Team Leader to implement effective programs in a supportive, not-for-profit environment.

Prior training experience is not essential; we can support the right candidate to obtain the TAE qualification while transitioning into the role. WWCC is required.

About the Role:

As a Trade Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the trade industry by:

  • Delivering engaging, hands-on training sessions that draw from your industry expertise.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and validation of training materials, including lesson plans, presentations, and assessments.
  • Fostering a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborating with the Training Team Leader (Trade) to design and implement effective, results-driven programs.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to students as they start their trade careers.

You will work closely with a team of experienced trainers to deliver high-quality training and support to students through face-to-face delivery, ensuring exceptional educational outcomes.

What you’ll bring to the table

We employ Trainers who are actively engaged in industry practice whilst teaching, giving students insight into current industry processes and trends.

To be successful in this role, you will also need to demonstrate:

  • A Trade Certificate in Electrotechnology or relevant trade qualification.
  • Current industry skills directly relevant to your trade vocation.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122), or willingness to obtain one with our support .
  • Experience working in the Vocational Education and Training sector (desirable but not essential).
  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safety, professionalism and helping others succeed.
