Job summary

Zeal Futures offers an apprenticeship in Civil Construction, providing hands-on site experience while you study for a Certificate III. You’ll be mentored, trained and supported throughout your pathway into a real career in construction.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of hand, power and other tools as directed by supervisors.
• Assist in handling and moving machinery and equipment on site.
• Communicate effectively with site personnel, including supervisors and team members.
• Assist in setting work activity priorities under supervision.
• Perform tasks diligently, adhering to health, safety and environmental rules.
• Assist in clearing and preparing construction sites, including digging trenches and removing debris.
• Carry out other apprentice tasks within skill/ability limits.

Job description

Whilst studying a Certificate III Civil Construction working with BRP Industries over 3 years, you’ll have the opportunity to work on:

• Operate a variety of hand, power, and other tools as directed by supervisors.
• Assist in the handling and/or moving of machinery and equipment on site.
• Communicate effectively and clearly with site personnel, including supervisors and team members.
• Assist in the setting of work activity priorities under supervision.
• Perform tasks diligently, always maintaining and adhering to all health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations.
• Contribute to clearing and preparing construction sites, including digging trenches, and removing and disposing of debris.
• Carry out other duties that are within the limits of apprentice skills, competence and ability as required

What we’re looking for

• Commitment to both on and off the job training.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to work away from home, for periods of up to 10 days.

Must-haves

• Current drivers licence (provisional or above), or close to obtaining.
• White Card
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including audiometry and drug and alcohol screening
