Job summary

AYAN InfoTech is looking for Dynatrace Observability SME to join an exciting project based in Sydney. The role offers you the opportunity to contribute towards an extremely well structured and mature environment, working on sophisticated enhancement projects.

Location: Sydney
Contract Duration: 6 Months with high possible extensions

Role Summary

The Dynatrace SME is responsible for driving the enterprise observability strategy and leading the implementation, governance, and optimization of Dynatrace across applications, infrastructure, and digital services. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to enable proactive monitoring, AIOps, and business-aligned observability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• 10+ years in monitoring / observability / SRE roles
• 3-5+ years hands-on Dynatrace experience
• Experience leading enterprise-scale observability implementations and migrations
• Dynatrace certifications Associate preferred
• Strong hands-on Dynatrace experience (APM, Infra, RUM, Synthetic, Logs)
• Expertise in OneAgent, Smartscape, PurePath, Davis AI
• Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes/microservices
• Knowledge of observability frameworks (metrics, logs, traces, OpenTelemetry)
• Observability Leadership & Strategy
• Define and own the enterprise observability strategy aligned to business KPIs (availability, MTTR, user experience)
• Drive adoption of observability practices across engineering, SRE, and operations teams
• Establish observability maturity roadmap
• Lead governance framework including standards, policies, and best practices
• Platform Implementation & Engineering - Lead end-to-end Dynatrace implementation across hybrid/multi-cloud environments
• Configure APM, infrastructure monitoring, RUM, Synthetic, and log analytics capabilities
• Enable AI-driven monitoring (Davis AI) for anomaly detection and RCA
• Drive proactive incident detection, reduction in noise, and alert rationalization
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets aligned to business services
• Design scalable architecture including OneAgent, ActiveGate, and cluster setup
• Integration, Automation & DevOps Alignment
• Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM (ServiceNow), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms
• Enable automation, self-healing, and event-driven workflows
• Promote observability-as-code using APIs, Terraform, and Open Telemetry
• Embed observability into DevOps/SRE lifecycle
